What it powers
One backend, three AI features.
NeuroSwitcher Cloud is the hosted counterpart to the app's local AI: the same features, minus the hardware requirements and setup.
Dictation cleanup
The raw transcript passes through a hosted LLM before it is typed: punctuation fixed, filler words removed, optionally reshaped by any preset.
AI text assistant
Select text anywhere, press Ctrl+Shift+G to rewrite or Ctrl+Shift+E to ask — attach a screenshot or image too, and the assistant answers from the cloud with nothing to configure.
How it works
An anonymous daily quota — not an account.
The app authenticates with an anonymous install identifier. Our server relays your request to an AI provider using our keys and counts it against your daily allowance. That's the whole system.
Free beta allowance
Currently around 50 AI requests and 5 minutes of transcription per day, resetting at midnight UTC. Beta limits may change as we tune capacity. The exact numbers for your install are always one click away: Console → Settings → Voice → Check cloud limits.
Provider keys never touch your PC
The AI provider keys live only on our server. Your machine holds nothing to leak, and we can improve models server-side without shipping an update.
Cloud is opt-in per feature: transcription and the LLM backend are chosen independently, and nothing is sent anywhere until you pick a cloud backend yourself.

NeuroSwitcher Cloud
Zero setup, free daily quota. Your audio or selected text is relayed through our proxy to the provider. Best way to try the AI features in the first five minutes.
Bring your own key
Paste your OpenAI or OpenRouter key and requests go straight from your PC to that provider — no NeuroSwitcher server in between. You pay the provider directly at API rates.
Fully local
On-device speech recognition and local LLMs via Ollama or LM Studio. Nothing leaves your machine, works offline, costs nothing — and stays the default.

We're building paid plans — think AI Lite and AI Plus — with larger monthly transcription and AI-request allowances and better models, for people who dictate all day. The promise that doesn't change: local processing stays free forever, bring-your-own-key stays available, and Cloud stays strictly opt-in.

Common questions about NeuroSwitcher Cloud.
Is it really free?
Yes — the beta is free with a daily allowance (currently ~50 AI requests and 5 transcription minutes per day; limits may change while we tune capacity). Paid plans with larger monthly allowances will come later, and local models remain free forever.
Do I need an account or an API key?
No. There is no sign-up and nothing to paste. The app uses an anonymous install identifier to track the daily quota. Select NeuroSwitcher Cloud as a backend in the Console and it works.
What exactly do you receive?
Only what you explicitly submit: the audio of a dictation you recorded with the hotkey, or the text selection and prompt you sent to the assistant. It's relayed to an AI provider for processing and counted against your quota. Your regular typing is never sent — that part of NeuroSwitcher stays fully local. See the privacy page for details.
What happens when I hit the daily limit?
Cloud requests pause until the quota resets at midnight UTC. Local backends and your own API key keep working without any limit from us — switching takes two clicks in the Console.
Can I check how much quota I have left?
Yes — Console → Settings → Voice → Check cloud limits shows your plan, today's usage, and when it resets.
