Five things that quietly did not work now do.
Recording a hotkey. It did nothing at all: you pressed a combination and the field stayed empty — every combination, not some of them. Two causes. Windows hands a registered combination to whoever claimed it, and almost everything people reach for first was already claimed by this app. And the recorder stored the character rather than the key, so on a Russian layout the A key arrived as «ф» and «Ctrl+Alt+ф» meant nothing. Recording a shortcut works now, on any layout, including the combinations the app itself uses.
Languages that were never yours. Someone with English and Russian had Hebrew offered to him for weeks, and Windows Settings had nothing to remove — because the layout was not there at all. Our own older versions loaded it into the running session. A language now counts as yours only when Windows keeps it too. The second half matters more: that same stray language was why ordinary wrong-layout text sometimes stayed uncorrected — a third candidate meant nothing could win outright. Two complaints, one cause.
Lost letters. Type quickly and «ghbdtn r» could become «gпривет»: the app deleted the wrong number of characters when you got ahead of it. It now looks at what you have already typed and puts it back after the correction.
Stop correcting my words. There is a switch now for people whose vocabulary sits outside our dictionaries — names, terms, inflections. Before it the only recourse was undo, one word at a time, after the fact. It turns off spelling correction, both engines behind it. Layout switching is untouched: that is the product.
Enter finishes the word. The last word before Enter is corrected like any other, so the sign-off at the end of a message no longer goes out in the wrong layout. Enter reads as the commit: in some editors the line break wants a second Enter. If you would rather it stayed untouched, there is a switch in Pro Console.
Uninstalling. Removing the app used to leave the acceleration pack (about 290 MB) and the folder holding settings, dictionaries and downloaded dictation models, which runs to gigabytes. The pack now goes with the program, and the app asks about the data once, naming the folder and its size.
Meeting transcription gained a choice of model and stopped uploading the silence between sentences — there is a separate post about that.
